Overview

You are to write/create a personal web site about yourself and your interests using HTML on Text Edit and your internet browser. Your web site must have a home page and a link to at least one other sub page that you make with more information about yourself. The minimum number of pages for this assignment is two, which includes the main page and at least one sub page. That means you will have to create and save at least two documents. Read the step by step carefully. After you make your new folders the first document you need to save as homepage.html and the second save as subpage.html etc. Make sure any other documents are saved with names that make sense to you. Do not forget, both need to be created using Text Edit and saved into your initials folder in your webclass folder. Pictures must be saved into your image folder.

You may work by yourself or as a team, but for this assignment each person needs their own web site. If one person gets it he or she should be willing to share information.

Requirements for success

*Read the HTML Basics on the Lewis Student Technology help page
*Read the first 6 steps for Creating Your Own Web Page, at
http://www.smplanet.com/web page/webpage.html
This is a great step by step how-to for your site. This is the site that gave me the idea to make a regular document that looked how I wanted my site in Word or Appleworks first. Then I "marked it up" with HTML after I pasted the text in my .html text only page.
Another helpful site is at http://werbach.com/barebones/barebones.html

Use those sites and this one as your guide to this assignment. You may view the source code to see what tags make things happen, but do not just copy and paste everthing because you may end up with pieces of that website that you do not want.
