Using your mouse to pull down file menus to select commands works great for some people, others prefer to keep their hands on the keyboard and use key commands. Below are many of the common key commands. "Apple" refers to the apple key. Hold down the apple/command key as you press the function key.

Undo	Edit	Apple - Z	Undoes previous deletes or edits
Copy	Edit	Apple - C	Copies selected text/graphic
Cut	Edit	Apple - X	Cuts selected text/graphic
Paste	Edit	Apple - V	Pastes previously cut or copied text/graphic
Select All	Edit	Apple - A	Selects everything on page
