Every student must complete a portfolio entry for each class. This is a requirement to pass this class.

Performance Standard 8.2c

The student publishes information, using several methods and formats, such as overhead transparencies, printed handouts, and computer-generated graphs and charts.

Question- What are the design element that make up a good webpage?

Thesis Statement - To create an effective webpage, certain design elements and rules need to be followed.

Focus:

• function over form
• simplicity
• mistake free
• easy access
• reliable
• up to date

Directions:

You will write an essay answering the above question. You must use the Jane Schaffer writing method. I have given you the thesis statement to get you started as well as some focus ideas (you will need two). Use the provided worksheet (Must use Pencil), to do your prewrite. Get is checked off by the teacher before you start any writing on the computer.

Once checked off, cross out the sentence prompts (For example, This shows that...) and type the essay up using ClarisWorks.

Finished Report:

• Must be typed, double spaces, spell checked and proof read and corrected.
• It must contain a centered title with you full name under it.
• When finished, print and write your English teachers name on the top
• Turn in to Mr. Christensen.
