The Intro to Earth Science Timeline

To help you understand the history of earth science and the important discoveries and events that have taken place, you are going to recreate an Earth Science Timeline. Use page 2-3 in your Red book. Recreate the timeline you see.

  1. Open AppleWorks drawing program, save as "your initials and Intro Earth Timeline."

  2. Turn the page horizontal; "page setup," under "File."

  3. Use the drawing tools (box, circle, lines, etc) to draw and recreate the timeline.

  4. Give it a title

  5. Use 12 pt. size for the dates and 9 pt. for the text.

  6. You will need to keep things pretty small to make everything fit on one page.

  7. After you have your timeline complete, use "Google Image " search to find pictures for as many of the events as you can. They will not be the same pictures as you see in the book, but find similar ones. Download them onto your page by clicking and holding on the image and choosing "Copy." Then go back to your timeline and paste it. Resize and position it. Remember to arrange layers appropriately.

  8. Remember to save often.
