Internet Rules

Rules you must follow to use the internet at Lewis

The internet is great tool for finding information. However, certain precautions must be taken to assure student safety. Internet access is required for Mr. Christensen's Exploring Computer class.

  1. You must have an Lewis authorized internet access and password to use the internet or email. You can only get this by filling out an application. You and your parent need to sign it. (applications where given out at the beginning of year). You will be given your user name, password, and email account once your application is processed.

  2. You may only use your own password and account, you may not share with your friends. This will cause both of you to lose your account and access. So keep your password private and try not to forget it.

  3. You may only view websites that are appropriate for school. When in doubt, don't go there or ask. (be very careful about the pictures and lyrics you look at)

  4. Do not print anything with out permission

  5. Never give any personal information about yourself over the internet (ie: name, phone number, address, etc.)

  6. Chat rooms are not allowed.

  7. You may email people either at Lewis or anywhere else in the world as long as you know their email address.

  8. Any language you use in your email must be school appropriate. Inappropriate language or subject matter will not be allowed.

  9. Remember: the computer records everything you do, at the time you do it. So if you are doing something inappropriate, it will be traced back to you. Also remember that your teacher is watching everything you do, even when you don't think he is.

  10. Never reset any settings in the computer.

  11. If any of these rules are not followed. You may have your access and account taken away.
