Fire Drill Rules
Fire drills are to be taken very seriously. We practice fire drills just as we would do if there was a real fire or disaster. The overriding emphasis is on the safety of everyone. Students need to listen to and follow all directions their teacher and other adults.
- NO TALKING; Students need to remain quiet during the fire drill so that you can hear all directions from your teachers.
- WALK IN A LINE; Students need to walk and stay in a line. A line means walk right behind the person in front of you. If you are walking next to someone, you are not in a line.
- STAY UP WITH THE CLASS; Do not lag behind the class. You must be within hearing distance of your teacher.
- NO HORSING AROUND: Safety is our first concern. Take the drill seriously without any messing around, ie: no running, jumping, throwing things, tripping, kicking, touching, yelling, etc.
- When down on the field, listen for your name in role call and say "HERE" when called. We need to account for everyone as quickly as possible.
- We practice Emergency drills just as we would do in a real emergency.
