Trip Itinerary


Below is the itinerary for the 2008 East Coast Trip

Saturday, May 24

• Early morning check-in with group leaders at Lindbergh Field.

• Evening arrival at Boston’s Logan International Airport.

• Buses depart for a visit to the campus of Harvard University.

• Arrive at Quincy Marketplace for dinner.

• Check-in to our Boston area hotel.

 

Sunday, May 25

Arrive at Old Plimoth Plantation (spelled differently then new Plymouth) for a fascinating tour back to the 17th Century. We will also visit Plymouth Rock.

•Begin our tour of the Freedom Trail. We will see the Granary Burial Ground, the Boston Massacre site, the Old State  House the Bunker Hill Monument, the Old North Church and the Paul Revere House.

•Travel to New York for late night arrival in Times Square!!

 

Monday, May 26

• Transfer downtown to take the ferry for an up-close look at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

•lunch in the financial districts, walk through Central Park, then head down Fifth Ave in chaperone groups

• Walk to dinner and the fabulous Broadway showing of Phantom of the Opera!

Tuesday, May 27

• Breakfast and to the top of The Rockefellar Center

• Lunch and walk through Central Park.

• Bus to Philadelphia

• Visit The Constitution Center

• Dinner and hotel check-in.

Wednesday, May 28

• Breakfast at hotel

• Begin our tour of the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.

• Depart for Washington, DC.

• Arrive at Mount Vernon, home of George Washington.

• After dinner, we will begin our night tour of the monuments. We will visit the World War II Memorial and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial.

• Check-in to our Washington area hotel.

Thursday, May 29

• Visit Capitol Hill where we visit the U.S. Capitol building. We will also see the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress

  • Possible visit to the FBI Building and other sites in the Washington, D.C. area

 

Friday, May 30

• Bus to Arlington National Cemetary for the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.

•Tour the cemetary, including the Challenger Memorial and the Kennedy Grave sites.

• The remainder of the day will be spent at the museums of the Smithsonian Institution. Students will have an opportunity to visit the Air and Space, Natural History, American History, and the American Indian museum. We will also be able to visit the National Gallery of Art and the National Archives.

 

Saturday, May 31

• depart for San Diego, early afternoon arrival!
