Students may begin fundraising at any time. Anything they would like to do on their own is great, as long as it's legal. In the past, students have sold water on hot days, mowed lawns, sought scholarships from local businesses, organized a car wash, etc. We will be organizing several opportunities through the school for individual students to raise funds.
Individual Fundraising Events
Buick Invitational Fundraising guidelines for the golf tournament are as follows:
1) All tickets are $15 ($10 off the gate price) and good for any day of the tournament which will be held January 23rd-27th, 2008.
2) Students will receive 100% of their tickets sales. For example, if a student sells 10 tickets, they earn all $150.
3) Tickets are to be sold to families, friends, neighbors, or teachers. Students are not allowed to sell tickets "door-to-door," or in front of any businesses. Also, students are NOT allowed to sell tickets at the tournament or anywhere around Torrey Pines Golf Course.
4) All money from tickets sales must be returned to Mr. Santana in room 301. All unsold tickets must be returned as well. Students who lose tickets will be charged for them. Checks can be made payable to Lewis Middle School.
5) Students have until the last day of the golf tournament to sell tickets, but they are NOT to be sold in, around, or near the golf course!!!
6) All money raised from ticket sales will be credited to the final payment. All monies raised by students who are removed from the trip will be placed in the general East Coast Fund.
7) Have fun! Students may sell as many tickets as they wish!! (see Mr. Santana in rm 301 for tickets)
Rummage Sale On Saturday, December 1st, we will hold our rummage sale in the Lewis Middle School parking lot from 7:00-11:00a.m. We will have a meeting prior to the sale for students to create posters in order to advertise around the neighborhood. Also, we will discuss items which are appropriate to sell, and items that are not appropriate to sell. Anything that students do not sell can be BOXED UP and left at school for the Salvation Army. This is labeled a “group” fundraiser because everyone is together, however, any money raised from items sold is the student’s own. Money raised during this event is the responsibility of the student, and not the school.
Students will set-up their "area" within the parking stalls. They may sell anything that is "sellable." Please do not use the rummage sale as an opportunity to get rid of junk. We do allow people to sell furniture, however, they must take it with them, if it does not sell. Students should take some time choosing what they want to sell, pricing the items appropriately, and planning how they will display their items. Parents and students are to arrive at the parking lot NO EARLIER than 6:30!! Please, please, please do not arrive before 6:30am!! Thirty minutes is sufficient time to set-up and prepare for the early customers at 7:00am.
Marie Calendar's and See's CandiesUnlike the Buick Invitational, students receive a percentage of what they sell (usually 40%-50%). All the money raised is ran through the school as well and their accounts will be credited through World Expeditions
