Ms. Maier's Classroom
Expectations:
Students will be
expected to:
- focus on learning and be prepared to learn.
This includes having the proper attitude toward the learning environment and
consistently bringing all the supplies necessary for successful learning.
- arrive in class on time. Each time a student
is tardy (unexcused), his or her citizenship grade will be affected. Missing
information presented during class time could also result in a poor academic
grade.
- work independently and with other students
in pairs or small groups as directed by the teacher.
- speak to and behave courteously toward other
students, the teacher, and other adults who may visit our classroom.
This includes following directions given by adults in a timely and respectful
manner.
- complete a variety of short and long term
projects, as well as daily work, in a timely manner. Late work will be
accepted the following day only for a reduced grade. The following exceptions
apply: Religious holidays, family emergencies, illness. In case of illness
for one day, the student's work is due on the day of his or her return to
class. Missed assignments of longer than a day's duration due to illness,
family emergency, etc. will be negotiated on a case by case basis. The student
will be responsible for contacting me via email or after school to make up
the missed work. However, the primary concern is keeping students responsible
for learning to meet deadlines.
- keep food and drink, except for water,
outside the classroom. The school's no gum policy is also upheld in
the classroom.
- treat classroom furniture, supplies, and
books with care and respect. Return any materials that were borrowed
on time.
Discipline
Discipline
