Homework for Mrs. Fleckner
Homework is used to make up absences, tardies, excused participation, and medical excuses. It cannot be used for non-suits and non-participations. Since students' grades are based on their participation in class, long term absences are difficult to make up. Homework is given at the beginning of each grading period and must be turned in by the last day of the grading period and CAN be turned in any time during the grading period. Extra points are given for early homework. Students can also earn extra points for their citizenship by turning homework in early. Late homework will be accepted, but will not reflect on the student's grade until the following grading period. Homework can also be emailed to lfleckner@sandi.net. Grade changes will not be made for late homework. Turn it in early and be on the safe side! The first three assignments must be turned in before the end of the first semester and the last three before the end of the second semester. Paragraphs should be approximately 100 words in length.
1st grading period
Write a paragraph about the physical activities you participate in OUTSIDE of class. Examples - walking, stretching, soccer, swimming, football, dance, etc. If you normally do not participate in activities, do some stretches or sit-ups while you are watching television or go for a walk with a family member or friend.
2nd grading period
Write a paragraph that describes how good sportsmanship can lead to a more positive experience in Physical Education or in a team sport. How does bad sportsmanship make students feel? Will you try harder if someone is encouraging you or if they are making fun of you? How can you improve your sportsmanship or others' around you?
You may want to give an example of good or bad sportsmanship and how it can affect a game situation. Write anything else you want to about sportsmanship.
3rd and end of first semester
Tell what academic and citizenship grade you think you have EARNED this semester. Tell what you have done to earn this grade. Have you had any non-suits? Participated FULLY every day? Stood around and talked to your friends instead of participating? Practiced good sportsmanship? Used foul language or called others names? Helped with equipment? Made an extra effort? Turned homework assignments? What are you going to do to improve your grade in the future?
4th grading period
Write a paragraph about your favorite team, sport, activity or athlete. You can write about one, two or all three of these. Why is this your favorite team? What do you like about the sport or activity? What do you admire about the athlete?
5th grading period

Write a paragraph explaining what you saw, what you thought, what happened. Did you enjoy it? Do you think the game was fair? Did you see examples of good or bad sportsmanship? How did it affect the event?
Last grading period and end of 2nd semester
